Supreme Court Case

Our Firm can handle your case all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States.  Recently, we filed in the Supreme Court and are in the Court’s attention for a possible landmark case for  Writ of Certiorari to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in USA v. Marquis Shaw.  This potentially precedent-setting case is in the sights of the Supreme Court to decide important Federal sentencing rules, answering important procedural questions of whether the Jury Clauses of Article III and the Sixth Amendment or the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment bar a court from imposing a more severe criminal sentence on the basis of conduct that a jury necessarily rejected, given its verdicts of acquittal on other counts at the same trial, as well as whether the Court’s decision in United States v. Watts, 519 U.S. 148 (1997) (per curiam), is to be overruled.  For additional details, follow the link below to the United States Supreme Court’s official publication on the cases highlighted for review.
